Ears Wide Open: Rad Horror

Dylan Jackson Scott is far from the first songwriter to turn being jilted by a lover into a tasty pop nugget, but the latest single from his new project Rad Horror presses all the right buttons. The measured mopery of “Sad Boy” has its roots in every traveling man’s nightmare: The L.A.-based New Jersey native had returned from touring to find that his fiancée had run off with someone else.
Scott launched Rad Horror last year after departing Interscope Records’ Young Rising Sons, who toured with the likes of Halsey, the 1975 and the Neighbourhood. He’s also credited with co-writing and producing the Halsey single “Ghost.” Scott’s video for the new Rad Horror single — which follows three songs released in late 2016 — nods to Andy Warhol’s mid-’60s screen tests and stars model Karol Queiroz.
