Warning: this video contains a clown. If that’s frightening or otherwise causes anxiety, don’t worry, he isn’t real. Wand‘s Cory Hanson verifies that the video’s clown is actually his brother. Everything will be fine. He says, “It’s an age-old story. In the end, the good clown wins and gets to be free. He dances.”

A song confronting memories, “Bee Karma” comes from “Plum,” Wand’s second album on Drag City Records, to be released Sept. 22. “Bee Karma” and the previously released title track showcase Wand’s expansion into a five-piece, with guitarist Robbie Cody and keyboard player Sofia Arreguin joining lead singer/guitarist Cory Hanson, bassist Lee Landey and drummer Evan Burrows. A departure from the past, the band wrote the record together, taking time to perfect interlocking guitar melodies and building epic moments that are less about being loud and more about the shimmering details that merge into fireworks.
