“Alive” is the first song Luke Top (Fool’s Gold) and Mindy Jones (Moby) wrote together. It materialized quickly and inspired the duo to write more songs together and form ADLT VDEO, a project where they could explore whatever kind of pop songs they felt moved to create. “This music is different from any of our other projects,” says Top, “and gave us the opportunity to indulge in all sorts of creative tangents that may not have had a home otherwise.” Inspired by their affinity for sci-fi and Morricone, “Alive” is the spookiest of the seven tracks on their debut EP, “Chameleon,” which came out Friday on Top’s own label, Grand Gallop Music.
