Stream: The New Division, ‘No Pride in Paradise’

Few L.A. artists in recent years have proven so adept at making reverential synth-pop as the New Division, the electronic music project helmed by John Glenn Kunkel. His most recent full-length, “Gemini,” was released in 2015, but this year he followed with the “Precision” EP and, last week, the new single “No Pride in Paradise” (and two B-sides). No unlike the bulk of the New Division’s catalog, “No Pride in Paradise” is candy for ’80s club nights and salve for the long drive home. Or a nice change-of-pace if you’ve listened to that Depeche Mode cassette one too many times. The New Division will release its fourth album, “Fader,” in January.
