Night On Broadway 2018: The B-52’s, WAR, La Santa Cecilia and much more over 10 stages

With 10 stages spanning 10 blocks, the fourth annual Night On Broadway celebrates a decade of Bringing Back Broadway, councilmember José Huizar’s initiative to revitalize downtown Los Angeles. With an expected attendance of at least 75,000 people, the free music and arts festival will take place on Jan. 27, utilizing four outdoor stages and six theaters between 1st Street and Olympic Boulevard. New wave heroes The B-52’s headline the Broadway Stage, along with ’70s funk-rockers WAR, local favorite La Santa Cecilia, and Ozomatli guitarist Raul Pacheco with his band The Immaculate Conception.
The full schedule has yet to be revealed but, so far, event highlights include…
► An 80’s-inspired funk and boogie party hosted by Funkmosphere at Globe Theater.
► “TEASE, if You Please!,” a burlesque show about the history of Broadway at the Palace Theatre.
► A “Ladies First” stage at 8th Street focused on women artists.
► Psychrock at Orpheum Theatre served by Dead Meadow, Frankie and the Witch Fingers, JJUUJJUU, Morgan Delt, Sugar Candy Mountain, Mothlight and The Entire Universe.
► Latinx music from many corners of the world at the Theatre at the Ace Hotel with Los Angeles Negros de Guillermo Lynch, Buyepongo, Los Romanticos de Mexico, Quitapenas, Combo Chimbita, plus DJs Chulita Vinyl Club.
► An LGBTQ block party that promises drag and dancing at 4th Street organized by DTLA Proud.
► “Recalling the Golden Age (Recordando la Epoca de Oro),” a tribute to the Golden Age of Mexican cinema and music in the Million Dollar Theatre.
► The Lucent Dossier Experience brings its crazy circus to the Los Angeles Theatre, along with DJ sets by John Kelley, Piepshow, Jason Esun, Drew Holly and Randy J.
