Dan Auerbach helmed an extraordinarily feel-good night of music Saturday at the Wiltern, where his Easy Eye Sound Revue tour alighted with special guests and the newest signees to his Easy Eye Sound label, Shannon and the Clams. The latter kicked off the night with songs from their new, Auerbach-produced album “Onion,” with Shannon Shaw and Cody Blanchard trading off on lead vocal duties.
Auerbach and his sharp crew of Nashville musicians — including Gene “Bubba” Chrisman on drums and Bobby Wood on keyboards (both of The Memphis Boys), Russ Pahl on guitar and Dave Roe on bass — took over after that. They performed tunes from Auerbach’s summer 2017 album “Waiting on a Song” and welcomed resurgent blues singer Robert Finley for four songs from the latter’s new album “Goin’ Platinum!,” which was produced and co-written by Auerbach. Beck joined the group during the four-song encore for a rendition of Elvis Presley’s “In the Ghetto.”
Setlist: Waiting On A Song, Malibu Man, Living In Sin, Cherry Bomb, Pull Me Under Love, Never In My Wildest Dreams, King Of A One Horse Town, Medicine Woman (Robert Finley), Three Jumpers (Robert Finley), Holy Wine (Robert Finley), Like It This Way (Robert Finley), Albatross, Trouble Waits For You, Eau Claire, Stand By My Girl, Trouble Weighs A Ton, Undertow, Don’t Go To Strangers, Shine On Me. Encore: All My Hope (Robert Finley), Get It While You Can (Robert Finley), In The Ghetto (with Beck), Goin’ Home (Auerbach solo acoustic)
