After touring throughout the Southwest for the last month, SadGirl returned home to Los Angeles and packed the Teragram Ballroom on a Sunday night. With a crew of friends on both sides of the stage, a pulsing crowd in front of them, and a effect-heavy VCR projection draping the stage, SadGirl cruised through a lengthy set of their lo-fi surf-punk. Joining bassist Dakota Peterson and frontman/guitarist Misha Lindes was David Ruiz (of the Paranoyds), who has been drumming for SadGirl on their recent tour. From the start of the set the crowd surfing was frequent. Both kids from the crowd and band members from previous acts were consistently throwing themselves off the stage and into the swarming mosh pit, with Lindes happily joining in on a few fist bumps and selfies. After a three-song encore that ended with their take on heavy and fast “Motorbreath,” Lindes hopped out onto the crowd. With huge grin across his face that echoed the feeling in the room, Lindes floated above the crowd for a bit before the crowd returned him to the stage.

The show was opened by two-piece Bruiser Queen from St. Louis (who have been touring SadGirl), followed by local acts Healing Gems and then Peach Kelli Pop.
