Video: Illuminati Hotties, ‘Cuff’

On “Kiss Yr Frenemies,” her debut album as Illuminati Hotties, singer-songwriter Sarah Tudzin rides a roller-coaster of twentysomething emotions, with, alternately, arms in the air, teeth gritted, lungs empty and voice raised to the heavens. Metaphorically speaking, of course. The slow-building “Cuff” constitutes one of the climbs up the incline, and at the top the view is fine, thank you. The animated video for the song is the work of Sam Lane and stars a flying fish, or one desirous of flying. Like the song and much of the album, it suggests that optimism and force of will go hand in hand.
