The Paul Plastic-directed video for JJUUJJUU’s “Zionic Mud” captures a day at the office in a hyper-color-patterned, hairless, alternate universe where everything eventually breaks apart and imp/explodes. It’s the title track from the band’s latest album, out now through Dine Alone Records. In addition to appropriately brain-melting visuals, many of the songs were given remixes by different artists, “Zionic Mud” receiving a 80s-ish dance pop treatment from Warpaint’s Jennylee. A psychedelic loop ritual experiment created by Phil Pirrone, JJUUJJUU is already gearing up to record LP2 once the dust settles on the festival he masterminds, Desert Daze, this year moved to the mountain-rimmed valley of Lake Perris.
