Girlpool

Pardon us for doing a double-take when we hopped on YouTube to check out the new Girlpool video — the ad leading into the “Magnifying Glass” was almost as long as the clip itself. The exercise in short attention span theater was directed by Craig Scheihing, and it finds the duo of Cleo Tucker and Harmony Tividad harvesting people from a garden. At just 36 seconds, it’s the L.A.-bred, Philadelphia-based cherub rockers at their rawest. Their album “Before the World Was Big,” released in June, does indeed lend a magnifying glass to issues like friendships, growing up and identity. Check out the video, it’ll only take a minute.
