Dniven - video scene

Sounding lovelorn and world-weary as ever, the new single from L.A. roots-rocker Patrick Duniven (dba Duniven) is titled “My Mayra,” the subject of which inspires the kind of obsession that makes many a dude anguish over his drinks. In the video, Duniven gets high with a little help from his friends — several of whom you will recognize if you’ve spent much time in clubs and bars in L.A.’s northeast neighborhoods. Many of those friends are game for singing a line or two as well; the cast includes Jerry Borgé (aka Jason Borger, who produced the song and Duniven’s forthcoming record “Oh My”), Cesar Saez (the principal camera operator), Brian Whelan, Derek Brown, Tasso Smith, David Spreng, Greg Collins, Ryan Herbert, The Souls, Jack Waterson, Dave Sheehan and Amy Rieckelman. It was filmed at Sonny’s Hideaway, though there’s no word on whether it was an open bar. Duniven himself flashes a few “Cocktail” moves at the end, when distraction wins. “Oh My” will be out later this year.
