Stream: MOTION CNTRL, ‘It’s on You’

So snug and insistent are the beats on MOTION CNTRL’s new single “It’s on You,” the song almost feels like it’s coming from inside your head, not outside. The song is the latest tease from the synth-pop duo’s first proper EP after debuting in 2013 with a the three-song “Demo.” It finds the duo of Allyce Engelson and Luke Mertz engaging in a nifty bit of vocal coupling, then call-and-response, over the snap-snap-snap of electro beats and ethereal keys. If this one’s about the cold finality of departure, it sure is warm in here. The self-titled EP is out Aug. 21*, and it will also include “Heavy Loss,” which came out as a single last year.
