Affable pop rogue Andy Clockwise has returned with a new single. The L.A.-based Australian — who won points for his 2010 full-length “The Socialite” and last year’s “Dancing World” EP, and bonus points for his live shows where audience participation seems a mandate — reconvenes on “Open Relationship” with collaborator Stella Mozgawa. She’s the hell-on-wheels drummer who plies her trade for Warpaint (and gigs for other artists) … so that’s obviously an open relationship. In tandem Clockwise and Mozgawa wage war against the self-serious, making disco-rock that not only moves bodies but often moves people to smile. “Open Relationship” is one of Clockwise’s typically bawdy offerings, with the duo trading vocals and innuendos. It’s part of an EP, “The Good Book,” that Clockwise will release Nov. 20. He’s offering two versions of the song (including an 8 1/2-minute dancefloor edit) for free download in advance of his three-week November residency at the new Hollywood Music Hall (details below). Want a real relationship? Be conflicted, and dance.
