The new album from Matt Adams — the psychedelic pop explorer who does business at the front of the Blank Tapes — doesn’t do much exploring. Because that would mean getting up off the couch, metaphorically. What “Geodesic Dome Piece” (which comes out Tuesday via Royal Oakie Tapes & Records) offers, however, is an amiable amble through the annals of California pop, from trippy folk to slacker pop. If the vibe if bongload background music, though, it’s notable that Adams continues to amass a jaw-dropping catalog without quite repeating himself. “Magic Leaves” almost induces a trance by itself, and “420” should be declared the official anthem of April 20 right now. The single is titled “Way Too Stoned.” As if there is such a thing.
