Ears Wide Open: No Parents

The latest in an increasingly long line of inheritors of Iggy Pop’s “kill-all-hippies” mantra are No Parents, who like kindred spirits FIDLAR and a host of bands on the Burger Records imprint play punk-rock hard and fast and loud and hilariously and profanely. Their debut album “May the Thirst Be With You” comes out this week via cassette on Burger, and the song “Die Hippie Die” wishes bad things — or a relocation to India — for the flower-power set. Their “theme song” titled “No Parents” is wash-your-mouth-out-with-soap stuff, and if grandma sees the quartet’s video for “Hey Grandma,” she’s gonna spill chamomile tea all over that iPad she’s been using as a cutting board.
