What’s not to love about this collaboration? As M83, Anthony Gonzalez composes gorgeously cinematic music, and in the new track “Holes in the Sky” the picture is completed with vocals from Grammy-nominated L.A. outfit Haim . The song appears on the soundtrack to the action-adventure film “The Divergent Series: Insurgent,” which comes out next week via Interscope Records. The new song — with its epic orchestration including swelling strings, thunderous percussion, crashing cymbals and the dreamy voices of sisters Este, Danielle and Alana Haim — is joined on the soundtrack by songs from Royal Blood, Anna Calvi, Zella Day, SOHN, Imagine Dragons and French producer Woodkid (a collab with Lykke Li). Much like the movie’s heroine Tris, Haim prove a forced to be reckoned with.
