Chapter 1: Many hearty hellos from Antibes, France!”  My name is Morgan Kibby, and I am the keyboardist/female vocalist reverbed to all hell/resident champagne drinker/only person with a set of X chromosomes in the French outfit M83.

Thanks to Buzz Bands for giving me a place to record my adventures ”” I have a feeling there will be many to share if past tours are any indication. The cast of characters in M83 is Anthony Gonzales (Anto, brain child and founder of M83), Pierre-Marie Maulini (PM or Pedro, guitarist), Loic Maurin (Lola Collins, drummer) and myself. We have a weeks worth of rehearsals before we set out on the road again, and so I find myself at Anthony’s house in the South of France preparing for long days in the studio, lots of croissants (hopefully), and apparently no sun.”  In fact, I’ll be frank — “South of France” sounds nice, but it’s freezing here right now. Technically my vision of the south is this: azure waves, blinding sun, teenage frolicking, passionate summer trysts. … Alas, this is not vacation time. (Luckily for me, I have a leg complex, so I probably wouldn’t have jumped in Anthony’s pool anyway.) But really, who am I kidding?”  Quitting my day job a year ago to play music every day is sheer bliss.”

In short, I really look forward to sharing the next couple months.”  I’m ecstatic to be back behind the wheel, and as much as I miss L.A. the moment I leave it, the gloriously long and dusty road calls and I am more than happy to answer.

In the meantime, Loic showed this link to me, and although it made me laugh, I actually thought the mash-up was pretty well done.”  Who would have thought, M83 and Busta Rhymes. But the cherry is the picture: absolutely priceless. Enjoy.
