Tonight in L.A.

2

[Seems like a light show night in the big city — where is Joe Walsh throwing his birthday party?]

The Sounds aren’t just that band with the song in the Geico commercial. Their punky electro-rock has played quite well in L.A., and tonight they’ll try filling the Palladium. … West Indian Girl continues its Thursday residency at Spaceland. … Down in Long Beach, the Henry Clay People [Joey Siara, pictured] join San Francisco’s Little Teeth *** in expanding the walls at the cozy Prospector. … And that Jane’s Addiction friends-of-the-band party at El Cid? Not exactly something that invites walk-up business.

Update: Little Teeth have canceled the Prospector show, but very good local shoegaze-rockers the Meeting Places will play in their place. And, yes, there was already quite a line outside of El Cid by midafternoon of those hopeful of seeing Jane’s Addiction.
