Video: Erin Lang’s ‘You’re Better Off’ (Dntel remix)

It’s late at night and I’m feeling ambient, and not a little bit twee — a good time to discover London-based singer-songwriter Erin Lang (a collaborator and co-founder of the upstart label 99X/10 with former Cure keyboardist Roger O’Donnell). On the Canadian-born singer’s recent EP, Jimmy Tamborello (wearing his Dntel hat) gives the remix treatment to her track “You’re Better Off” — and then the song gets a video treatment from O’Donnell. The setting: a chilly Williamstown, Ontario. The pattern: cross-stitch.
Curious? Charmed? I was. So I dug a little deeper and came across her 2007 album, “You Are Found,” the predecessor to the “Foundlings and Strays EP” (with the Dntel remix).” Here’s a sample of the album, along with an animated video by Mario Thaler.
