In the past several years of covering the L.A. music scene, I’ve had the privilege of spending time and talking music with Mark Sovel, aka Mr. Shovel, who was the music director at Indie 103.1 (KDLD-FM) before the station disappeared. (Well, it didn’t vanish, it just announced a format change, which you probably already know about if you’re reading this blog.) I’ve invited Mr. Shovel to stop by Little Radio today for my Buzz Bands show. We’ll chat and kvetch, and I will try to muster a playlist that is a proper salute to his dearly departed “Check One … Two” local music show.
