Noisepop news while we wait on Coachella

So this wait for the Coachella lineup is agonizing, isn’t it? I confess that I don’t have a single ounce of insight – although I did do spit take last night when somebody said, “Dude, did you hear about Phish?” Which, considering how some thought our beloved festival in Indio jack-johnsoned the shark last year, is almost believable. So today’s Coachella news boiled down to Ryan Seacrest (who posted a dubious lineup) and the LA. Times blog, which provided the direct line to Goldenvoice: Seacrest is wrong. And be patient.
Here, then, is some nice festival news. Noisepop – the bustling event in that part of California you won’t get sunburned – has unveiled its lineup. Good one too: Deerhunter (pictured, headlining the opening-night party), Antony and the Johnsons, Stephen Malkmus, the French Kicks, Martha Wainwright, St. Vincent, Bob Mould, No Age and Les Savy Fav are just a few of the artists performing Feb. 24-March 1. There’s also film, a design fair, art and lectures. Schedule here. Roster of acts here. What I’m not finding on the website is any directions to the campground.
