Modest Mouse has announced a 12-date tour that includes a Feb. 24 stop at the Hollywood Palladium, with sometimes-L.A. resident and ex-Grandaddy guitarist Jim Fairchild rejoining the band. Fairchild, who’s completed but not released his sophomore album as All Smiles, takes the place of ex-Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr – who, when not involved in academic pursuits, has hooked up with U.K. rockers the Cribs. Opening for Modest Mouse on the tour will be Mimicking Birds, a signing to MM frontman Isaac Brock’s Glacial Pace label.
