Friday: Some hot kids on the Eastside: Newly signed to Kemado Records, San Diego’s the Soft Pack (pictured, formerly the Muslims) plays the Echo in one final SoCal show before traipsing off to England for a month’s worth of dates. … Downstairs at the Echoplex, Prince Paul joins Peanut Butter Wolf for a good time. … And at Spaceland, Pittsburgh’s Don Caballero is in. … LL Cool J brings it at Club Nokia downtown. … The Appleseed Cast, with locals Klum opening, play the Knitting Factory. … The Voyeurs squeeze into Pehrspace with a crop of other locals. … And ALO jams at the Troubadour

Saturday: Thursday has a new album, “Common Existence,” out Tuesday, and the New Jersey screamo band hits L.A. to kick off the Taste of Chaos Tour at the Palladium. The so-called “Winter Warped Tour” also features up-and-comers Bring Me the Horizon, Pierce the Veil, Four Year Strong and Cancer Bats. … And in a parallel universe, the Sparks show at Royce Hall is getting all the buzz. … But, let’s see, Feb. 14 … Could be a good for some soul? Kenneth (Babyface) Edmonds is at Club Nokia, while Mint Condition plays the El Rey Theater and the Soul of John Black plays at Cafe Boogaloo. … Peachfuzz plays a Valentine’s party at the Redwood Bar downtown. … And elsewhere, it’s Yo Majesty at the Echoplex, Horrorpops at the Avalon and Eagle Winged Palace at the Alterknit Lounge.

Sunday: Saint Motel and Craft Club play Spaceland; the Music Tapes play the Echoplex; and at All-Star Lanes in Eagle Rock, Radio Free Silver Lake presents “Under Covered” – a night in which four L.A. bands cover other L.A. bands.
