The sweaty, sold-out show by And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead on Nov. 13 at the Echo was a hit with longtime fans of the Texas trio. Spaceland Recordings will release a live album recorded at the gig later this spring – for now, however, they are offering a free download of “Richter Scale Madness” (plus the video). The band will be back in town March 17 to play the Echoplex.

Jimmy Tamborello has dug into his own crates – er, tapes – and on April 14 will release a three-CD set of early Dntel material, “Early Works for Me If It Works for You II,” on Phthalo Records. Two of the discs are remastered versions of “Soemthing Always Goes Wrong” and “Early Works for Me If It Works for You,” his first two Phthalo releases in 1998 and ’99 – yeah, that was way before the Postal Service, kids – and a third disc featuring “a new collection of DAT discoveries.”
