[Here’s some afternoon viewing – two videos I really like …]
The video for Death Cab for Cutie’s “Grapevine Fires” is even more of a tear-jerker than the song, but it tugs at all the right heartstrings. It’s the work of Walter Robot (the team of multimedia artist Bill Barminski and writer Christopher Louie), and it captures the sense of loss that victims of the California wildfires must have felt. The song, off the album “Narrow Stairs,” was inspired by frontman Ben Gibbard’s personal encounter with the 2007 fires. DCFC launches a monthlong U.S. tour April 7 (it skips L.A.).
Girls misbehaving? Yeah, but the video for Maria Taylor’s “Time Lapse Lifeline” is not what you think. Aided and abetted by Brett Anderson (the Donnas), Neely Jenkins (Tilly and the Wall) and Morgan Nagler (Whispertown 2000), Taylor’s mischief-making includes random acts of vandalism – and violence, if you count the treatment Har Mar Superstar gets. Don’t try this at home, kids. Taylor’s album “LadyLuck” is out March 31.
i heart your blog. the DCFC vid rocks. very timely for us melburnians.
