[The Henry Clay People’s tour in support of the Airborne Toxic Event got back on track for a week or so – and then Airborne was forced to cancel shows Thursday and today in Canada because frontman Mikel Jollett took ill. THCP’s Joey Siara was inspired to write some verse …]
Hey there, friends. It seems to have been a while since last we chatted. Mouse of Classical Geek Theatre followed us around for a good chunk of last week, so I figured that he’d provide plenty of reading material to those interested. All in all, things are looking up in camp HCP. ” The tour is back on track, and we are doing what we are supposed to be doing: playing rock and roll shows. We are halfway done. Let’s celebrate with some bad poetry:
Kansas was flat and frustrates
Our Lawrence show was kind of a waste
Except our family came through
With good food, floors, and brew
And now it’s my favorite red state
Minneapolis was 7 degrees
But the people are still sweet as peas
They gave us the ‘Mats
We saw Airborne “comeback”
Now it’s back on the road while we freeze
Chicago’s a magical place
Chicago folks have magical taste
Cubs, Wilco, and beefs
All the kids in the streets
It’s a city where I’m tempted to stay
I’d never seen Columbus before
And I admit that I thought I’d be bored
But the show was a hit
And the venue had a pit
We shacked up with nice couple … score. ” (That was lame.)
Pittsburgh proved a tough house to fill
Jonathan was becoming quite ill
The architecture impressed
The town still seemed depressed
I would be too if I worked at the mill
We’ve been hanging in Toronto today
There’s a sold out show tonight to play
I hear TATE’s on Def Jam
Russell Simmons is the man
Not bad for a bunch of hosers, eh?
New verse – just added
Ottawa and Montreal are a no go
Which is a bummer cause we need a show
But everybody seems sick
And on antibioTICs
So we’ll waste a few days in the snow … Yo
Ill.
Until next time …
Have a show
in the snow
Play the lifts acoustical
HCP reigns supreme!
RaRaRa???
wow…abysmal.
Love how you and Justin support your own- it’s lost art. Time for me to get busy with what I have learned from you dudes. Godspeed.
Well they played in boston after Canada was a no go, and they were amazing. Best opening act i’ve seen in a long time.
