It’s a massive evening for shows, starting with biggies like Lily Allen at the Wiltern and Will Oldham, as Bonnie “Prince” Billy, at the El Rey Theatre. … It’s almost criminal that Billy is playing the same night as Jason Isbell (who is at Spaceland) and Robert Francis (at the Troubadour) – it’s not a stretch to think they could all play on the same bill. … The “Gooseberries” release party at the Eagle Rock Center for the Arts features music from four bands, including Afternoons, and it’s going to be packed, I hear. … Songstresses galore, too: Anya Marina [pictured] at the Hotel Cafe, and Tift Merritt, with Miranda Lee Richards, at Largo. … Also: Har Mar Superstar, JJAMZ and Dot Hacker at the Bootleg Theatre (2220 Beverly Blvd.); the Answering Machine at the Viper Room; the Capshuns at the Silvelake Lounge; T.S.O.L. at the Key Club as part of the Warped Tour kickoff party; Olin and the Moon (with Voxhaul Broadcast and Spirit Vine) at the Echo; Simon Says No and Rademacher at 3 Clubs; and Fishbone and Mezklah at Air Conditioned in Venice.
