[It’s Jesse McCartney’s 22nd birthday today. Is he still a big deal, or is 22 over the hill in that world? In keeping with that theme …]

“It’s Spooky to Be Young” is the new album by L.A.’s Meredith Meyer [pictured]. Her sophomore effort, produced by Bill Racine (Rogue Wave, Mates of State, Mark Gardener), gets a proper celebration with a show tonight at 3 Clubs. … That snarl you’ll hear tonight will be coming from Spaceland, where Living Things will pump up the volume, and the attitude, at Club NME. They will be joined by Bloodcat Love. … Great lineup at Bordello, where Local Natives anchor a lineup that includes Eastern Conference Champions, the Flying Tourbillon Orchestra and the Union Line. … And if psych-rock is your thing, there’s an equally attractive lineup at the Silverlake Lounge, with the Moon Upstairs and Lower Heaven, among others. … The Monthlies’ album-release show for “Monthlies, Assemble!” is at the Viper Room. … Couple of interesting residencies kick off tonight: Tristan Prettyman will do Wednesdays at the Hotel Cafe (where it’s also the release show for Tavis Bohlinger’s self-titled EP); and Paging Beto will play every week this month at the Redwood. … And Alexi Murdoch holds forth at the El Rey Theatre.
