Videos: The Bronx, Gliss

[New from a couple of Los Angeles bands:]
You know how hard it is to get decent tones out of your cymbals under water? Leave it to the guys in the Bronx to figure it out. Just watch out for the stage-diving shark. (Shot in a friend’s pool in the U.K., this is the video for “Knifeman,” off “The Bronx III.) The Bronx plays the Ink and Iron Festival at the Queen Mary in Long Beach on June 5; also, the El Rey Theatre on July 7.
Joel Bentow’s video for Gliss’ single “Morning Light” – the leadoff” track off the trio’s sophomore album, “Devotion Implosion” – is much more straight-ahead, a nice montage of moody live shots and urban landscapes that fits the driving, yearning feel of the song. Gliss plays the Roxy on June 5. Download the song here.

The Bronx are a solid band. Great song, good video, but I think they should have put on weight belts for the underwater video. Of course, that makes it easier to drown so they should have used a ladder too. That’s it, weight belts and a ladder.
I love that Gliss track.
Anyone else see and hear a striking resemblance to the Raveonettes in Gliss’ new track?
Great Gliss song. Very MBV/J & Mary Chain. And theyeven make LA look like England in parts…nice trick.
