The first single from Freeland‘s forthcoming album is titled “Under Control,” and it’s almost impossible not to do a little shimmy-shake when you hear it. The brainchild of Adam Freeland, the Brighton-based producer/DJ, Freeland features Adam Baumann on vocals, Spinnerette/Distillers guitarist Tony Bevilacqu and, on the album (“Cope,” out digitally here, physically in June), guests such as Brody Dalle, Tommy Lee and Joey Santiago. Freeland plays the Detroit Bar in Costa Mesa on May 21 and the Echo on May 22.
