The Silent Years are one fun band. The Detroit five-piece makes kaleidoscopic pop songs with intricate arrangements and a sense of wonder, and last month the band hooked up with L.A.-based SideCho Records to release its new EP, “Let Go.” [Download: “Madame Shocking.”] Singer Josh Epstein and his mates hit Spaceland tonight, supported by L.A.’s Hello Vegas. … The big show tonight has Van Morrison at the Orpheum Theatre (it’s not sold out), but that’s just one boldfaced show in a long list. … Mae, supported by Barcelona, plays the Troubadour. … Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros, with Warpaint, among others, play the middle of their three weekly shows at downtown’s Regent Theatre. … Her Space Holiday headlines the Echo. … At the 3 Clubs, it’s Mack Winston and the Reflections, along with the Yelling. … Restavrant kicks off a Thursday residency at the Silverlake Lounge, and there’s a Thursday residency at the Hotel Cafe, too, with Jim Hanft presiding. … And it’s Tom Brosseau at Largo; Cassie Steele at the Knitting Factory; and the Rescues (late) at the Hotel Cafe.

Saw them at SpaceLand last thursday all i have to say is AMAZING show!!!!
