Videos: Regina Spektor, the Sounds

Regina Spektor’s new album “far” comes out June 23, and color me infatuated with “Eet,” especially this video. The album will mark her first new material since 2006’s “Begin to Hope” (except that song on the “Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian” soundtrack), and it’ll be a welcome addition to the summertime CD bag. No U.S. tour dates have been announed.

The Blondie-channeling Swedish quintet the Sounds, always popular in these parts, have hit a sweet spot with their new album “Crossing the Rubicon.” No, you won’t think it’s reinventing anything – it’s not even my favorite Swedish release of the year – but the Sounds are good fun, and well-suited to support No Doubt on this summer’s Big Tour (July 27-28 at Gibson Amphitheatre, July 31 and Aug. 1, 2 and 4 at Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre). Here’s their new video for “No One Sleeps When I’m Awake.”
