July’s free residencies bring some new flavors to the Eastside clubs: Australian transplant Andy Clockwise unleashes his biting, boisterous bar rock at Spaceland, where his track “Everybody’s in a Band” ought to resonate with the locals. … Fronted by a former pro surfer (though you’d never guess from the music), Alex Knost, Costa Mesa’s Japanese Motors [pictured] invades the Echo. … And Last American Buffalo plays its Americana-tinged alt-rock at the Silverlake Lounge, where Eastern Conference Champions support. … Meanwhile, at the Hotel Cafe, Kim DiVine celebrates the release of her new album, “Square One.” … Also: Limerick, Ireland’s We Should Be Dead at the Viper Room; and the Karabal Nightlife at the Scene in Glendale.
