It was 40 years ago … Woodstock, in photos

I am not quite old enough to have attended Woodstock – if you want some insights, talk to this guy – but I will look in on “Woodstock: The 40th Anniversary,” the photographic exhibition currently up at the Duncan Miller Gallery.
The exhibition features the work of four photographers – Jim Marshall, Baron Wolman, Henry Diltz and Lisa Law. Each of the four boasts long histories documenting the seminal acts and events of the time: Marshall shot the likes of Johnny Cash, Jimi Hendrix, the Beatles and Janis Joplin; Wolman was chief photographer for Rolling Stone; Diltz captured the Doors, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young and scores of others; and Law’s catalogue includes striking images of such artists as the Beatles, Peter, Paul and Mary, Otis Redding, the Velvet Underground and the Byrds.
