Video: The Polyamorous Affair, ‘White Hot Magic’

Thanks to LA Record, I was turned on to the Polyamorous Affair’s video for “White Hot Magic.” [Caution: The version above has some dirty words in it.] Like the duo’s Manimal Vinyl debut, “Bolshevik Disco,” it’s the product of the vivid and slightly warped imagination of Eddie Chacon (he of 1992’s “Would I Lie to You?) and his wife Sissy Saint-Marie. How make seemingly cheesy electro-pop interesting, and even cool? Dress it up like it’s house music for a Soviet Bloc party. Fun times.
||| Live: The Polyamorous Affair join the Deadly Syndrome and Eskimohunter to perform at the El Rey Theatre on Sept. 26 as part of Tarfest. They’re also part of the Manimal Vinyl Festival at Pappy & Harriet’s in Pioneertown on Oct. 4.
