Welcome news dept.: Black Rebel Motorcycle Club is working in Hollywood on a new album to be released in early 2010. In the meantime, the L.A.-based trio have announced it will release “Live,” a two-DVD, one-CD package on Nov. 11. The release, on the band’s own imprint through a partnership with Vagrant, features more than two hours of footage shot in Berlin, Dublin and Glasgow on the band’s “Baby 81” tour. The new music features newbie Leah Shapiro on drums. Like all that? The band also has a remix it’s giving away.

Wolfmother continues to build the buzz toward the Oct. 27 release of its sophomore album “Cosmic Egg.” Filter is offering four remixes of the Aussies’ single “New Moon Rising,” and while your tastes may vary, I’m only finding that the YACHT remix is a keeper.
