Sunset Strip Music Festival: Here are my quick picks – Talib Kweli (tonight at the Key Club); Vanaprasta (tonight at the Viper Room); HoneyHoney (tonight at the Roxy); the Donnas, Shiny Toy Guns and Ozzy Osbourne (Saturday, outdoor stages); the Tender Box, Eulogies and Earl Greyhound (Saturday, Key Club); and Nico Vega and the Knux (Saturday, the Roxy). Today: The first show of Dead Man’s Bones’ residency should be intriguing. The Ryan Gosling/Zach Shields musical project starts a three-week residency (they’re charity shows) at the historic Bob Baker Marionette Theater downtown. There will be puppets and a children’s choir – the forthcoming Dead Man’s Bones album was conceived as music to a stage play about zombies and werewolves and such. … Also: Vivian Girls at the Echo; Anni Rossi at the Hotel Cafe; and” Paolo Nutini at the Wiltern.

Saturday: Brendan Benson [pictured] hits the Troubadour behind his new release “My Old, Familiar Friend,” with Rocket supporting. …” Robert Francis, Matt Popielich and Leslie Stevens are among the performers gathering at Spaceland for a Tribute to George Harrison. It’s for charity. … Also: Flying Lotus, Daedelus and others at the Music Box @ Fonda; the Meeting Places at downtown’s Silver Factory Studios; and the Honorary Title at the Knitting Factory.
Sunday: Anny Celsi celebrates the release of her new album, “Tangle-Free World” with a show at Spaceland. …” The Honey Brothers headline the Troubadour. … Andy Clockwise, Dios, Xu Xu Fang and Marvelous Toy play Little Radio’s Summer Camp (2017 E. 7th St., downtown). … Also: The Widow Babies at Part Time Punks at the Echo; and the Binges at the Viper Room.
