The Airborne Toxic Event kicks off its big tour with the Henry Clay People and Red Cortez at Pomona’s Fox Theater Pomona, while Sea Wolf [pictured] – days away from the release of its sophomore album “White Water, White Bloom” – is joined by Afternoons and Sara Lov at the Troubadour. … Big night at the Greek, with Yeah Yeah Yeahs, the Breeders and Yacht playing to a sold-out crowd. … Australia’s the Drones were mighty impressive when I saw them twice this spring, and they headline the Echo. … Toronto’s Timber Timbre brings its lovely cinematic pop to the Silverlake Lounge, with local orchestral pop maestros the Minor Canon supporting. … The Gaslight Anthem rocks the Music Box @ Fonda, with Murder By Death and Frank Turner also on the bill. … At Spaceland, it’s the kickoff party for this weekend’s Clean Air Clear Stars festival at Pappy & Harriet’s in Pioneertown. Tonight’s fare includes Miranda Lee Richards and the Shine Brothers. … Speaking of sold out, that Blink-182/Weezer-headlined show at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre will be full up. … And it’s Every Time I Die at the house of Blues. … Also: Soulive at the El Rey Theatre; Grant Lee Philips at Largo; Brooke White at the Glass House; Oh My God at the Viper Room; and Jake Coco at the Hotel Cafe.
