We interrupt this blog for quick Jeopardy question – category: New bands I’d like see to blow my mind at Coachella 2010, for 100, please. Who are the Big Pink? The U.K. duo’s debut album, “A Brief History of Love” (which came out in September on 4AD), grinds everything Madchester through an industrial-electro blender to make some of the biggest, body-shaking noise you’ve heard since the last space shuttle landing. It’s the brainchild of Milo Cordell, son of 1960s producer Denny Cordell, and Robbie Fulze, a guitarist whose parents named him after Robbie Robertson (hence the almost audacious reference to the Band). The self-produced album was recorded in New York and mixed by Alan Moulder. Pinch me.

I need to hear this in a festival situation too. Awesome stuff (in the true sense of that rather over-used word).
