awesomenewrepublic2It’s a busy night in Echo Park – local experimental noisemakers 60 Watt Kid celebrate the release of their new album “We Come From the Bright Side” upstairs at the Echo, while Bishop Allen and Throw Me the Statue play downstairs at the Echoplex in a show that was moved from the El Rey Theatre. (Enter through the Echo for both shows.) … The Dim Mak dance doings at Cinespace should be crazy, with Awesome New Republic [pictured; download here] appearing along with a Fischerspooner DJ set. … There’s a fine lineup of songwriters at the Bootleg Theater, including Inara George, Eleni Mandell and Ferraby Lionheart. … The Used rock the Wiltern behind their new album, “Artwork.” … Also: Mat Kearney at the Fonda Theatre; Lisa Hannigan at the Troubadour; London to Tokyo at the Viper Room; the Raveonettes at the Detroit BAr in Costa Mesa; the Sweet Kill at Spaceland; Via Tania and Rachel Cantu at Bordello; Wake Up Lucid at the Silverlake Lounge; Switchfoot at the Roxy; and Caitlin Crosby at the Hotel Cafe.
