[Corrected] This will warm your cackles – it’s a video of women in the northern Ugandan village of Gulu singing “Home” as a way of thanking Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros. The women were the beneficiaries of proceeds from the L.A. group’s album-release show July 14 for “Up from Below.” Through the Gulu Widows Group, the Ugandans used the money to start a farm in the war-torn area, where sustainable agriculture is in short supply. The video, posted via the Voice Project, was made after their recent harvest.
||| Live: Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros perform Monday at the Mayan Theatre.
[Item corrected to show that the donations were made through the Gulu Widows Group]
