[Benefits, holiday shows, good local shows … and Moz and Metallica: Tonight has a bit of everything:]
Morrissey’s show the Gibson Amphitheatre is not yet sold out; not so for Metallica’s gig at the Honda Center in Anaheim. … Staying in the M’s alphabetically, Alanis Morissette, joined by Greg Laswell, plays a Live Arts benefit at the Troubdaour; Andrew WK hosts. … Jonathan Richman finishes up his three-night run at the Mint. … Good local show at Spaceland, where Lemon Sun [pictured] headlines and Dirty Sweet, Spirit Vine and the Silent Comedy support. … Brooklyn’s Grooms visits to play the Silverlake Lounge, where local openers the Northstar Session are worthy of your attention. … Good stuff at 3 Clubs too – the little room will host Tape Deck Mountain, All Wrong & the Plans Change and Evan Voytas. … And at the Hotel Cafe, you have the Rescues, Jim Bianco and Kenneth Pattengale. … Elsewhere: The Boxmasters (Billy Bob Thornton) at the House of Blues; Agent Ribbons and Evan Way at the Bootleg Theater;” Deadbolt and Throw Rag at the Echo; and, yes, there’s a band called Schwarzenator playing the Viper Room.
