Love how the folks at Daytrotter capsulized young Long Beach quartet Avi Buffalo: “Music of the Bearded Men, By the Peach-Fuzzed.” The band’s Daytrotter session, just posted, features stripped-down versions of Avi Buffalo’s first official release (the Sub Pop single “What’s In It For” b/w “Jessica”) along with “Coaxed” and the arresting “Remember Last Time.” Avi Buffalo’s debut full-length will be out in 2010; consider my appetite whetted.

||| Live: Avi Buffalo does an in-store at Origami Vinyl in Echo Park at 3 p.m. Saturday. The band also plays a Toys for Tots benefit with the Voyeurs and others on Dec. 19 at the Comic Bug in Manhattan Beach, as well as the Ice Cream Man’s Xmas Party later that night at the Prospector in Long Beach.
