It’ll be their last SoCal appearance before Coachella – San Francisco quartet Girls [pictured in August at the El Rey Theatre], still getting all kinds of love for their creatively titled debut “Album,” play the Detroit Bar in Costa Mesa. … Meanwhile, the January resident bands bid farewell in raucous fashion: Year Long Disaster’s stint at Spaceland ends with a set from bassist Rich Mullins’ old band, Karma to Burn. … Country songstress Sally Jaye [a tout from 2007] plays on the final night of the Northstar Session’s residency at the Bootleg Theatre. … Excellent lineup for the Steelwells’ finale at the Silverlake Lounge, including Dusty Rhodes and River Band and Mississippi Man. … There’s an equally stellar cast supporting the French Semester as it closes out its month at the Echo, including Le Switch and Wonderground. … And Oren Lavie, Grammy-nominated for his video for “Her Morning Elegance,” plays the third of his four Mondays at Hotel Cafe.
