The Key Club is back in business, although not with a full schedule. I missed Go Betty Go’s farewell show there last week, but this week the Sunset Strip club kicks into high gear. Tonight, Grammy-nominated Mos Def headlines (Friday’s headliner is LL Cool J). … New music galore at the Echo, where the Parson Red Heads (who were in top form at the Bootleg Theater a couple of weeks ago) and the Chapin Sisters [pictured] preview material from their forthcoming sophomore albums. Abigail and Lily Chapin, by the way, will be gigging as backup singers for She & Him on their upcoming tour. … The Mother Hips [download], joined by Travel By Sea, play the Hotel Cafe, where Samuel Stewart has the later set.
