[Happy Grammy hangover, everyone. And happy February, already – the first night of this month’s residencies offers so much tasty music I don’t know where to turn …]

First, your residency rundown: Useless Keys, whose new music we debuted in November, kick off their Echo stand behind their new EP “Is the Painting Changing?” with a formidable lineup that includes Spirit Vine, the Arms and “special guests” – rumored to be red-hot trio Warpaint. … O.C.’s Gamble House, whose lush, rambling and haunting orchestral folk will appeal to fans of Grizzly Bear, is the headliner at the Silverlake Lounge, with White Arrows and Pepper Rabbit helping get things started tonight. … At the Bootleg Theater, Red Arrow Messenger showcases its heady take on Americana (All Wrong and the Plans Change also play). … And Princeton’s chipper take on indie-pop will prevail at Spaceland, with 60Watt Kid and Active Child supporting. … Elsewhere, Canadian post-rockers Do Say Make Think play the Troubadour. … And Oren Lavie plays an early set at the Hotel Cafe, followed by a Buddyhead-sponsored night featuring Slang Chickens and Sean Y Zander. … Also: Abe Vigoda at Pehrspace; That Noise at the Viper Room; and Randy Randall of No Age at Echo Curio.

Obligatory promotional note: I will be DJing the Echo show tonight
