It’s a night to celebrate sibling pop at its best – the Watson Twins’ new album “Talking to You, Talking to Me” came out this week on Vanguard, and the follow-up to 2008’s “Fire Songs,” made with Everest guys J. Soda and Russell Pollard, finds sisters Chandra and Leigh exploring territory that’s a bit less folky, substantially more smoldering, and no less achingly beautiful. [Stream the album here.] The twins headline the Bootleg Theater tonight, with Deep Sea Diver and Daisy McCrakin supporting. … San Luis Obispo-bred quintet Sherwood – whose 2009 album album “Qu” bristled with youthful, hard-charging pop-rock tunes – hits the Roxy (with Black Gold opening). … Also: Cold Cave, Best Coast and Avi Buffalo at the Glass House in Pomona; Alkaline Trio and Cursive at the House of Blues; Bob Schneider at the Troubadour; Faster Pussycat at the Key Club; Zac Poor at the Viper Room; Old Man Markley at the Echo; Oh My Stars at Spaceland; Casxio at Club Moscow at Boardner’s; the Swayback and Family of the Year at Chinatown’s Mountain Bar; Mason Reed at the Silverlake Lounge; and Last American Buffalo at 3 Clubs.
