Ears Wide Open: The Glassell Park 3

The Glassell Park 3 make music that’s a lot like its namesake Los Angeles neighborhood – working-class and unpretentious. The trio’s new album “GP3,” out on local imprint Sonata Catata, showcases the chops of Scott McDougall, Gavin Casell and John Neiggemann at their blistering best; it’s vintage garage blues with a twang-punk chaser, excellent tunes to blare if you have a belly full of dressed-down indie rockers, or a belly filling with cold draft beer.

||| Live: The Glassell Park 3 celebrate their album release with shows Friday at the Smell and Saturday at La Cita.
Some constructive criticism: Streams would be great for sampling the music you post. It’s not always practical to download an entire MP3 before listening to it. My favorite practice of music bloggers is to give visitors the option of streaming and/or downloads.
Thanks for listening.
