It’s been about two years since Canadian noiseniks Crystal Castles released their debut album. A second is in the works; meanwhile, fans will have to do with the song “Doe Deer,” being released on 12-inch vinyl on Record Store Day (April 17). Oh, and their show tonight at the Echoplex. …. Butch Walker [pictured], whose latest album “I Liked It Better When You Had No Heart” got a warm response after its Feburary release, blows back into town to headline the El Rey Theater, with Eulogies opening. … Spaceland residents Helen Stellar solidified their status as a must-hear local band at Week 1 of their residency, and for tonight’s second installment the L.A. quartet is joined by Atlanta octet the Constellations and NYC four-piece the Postelles. … Walking Sleep continues its Echo residency, supported by an excellent trio of local bands – Goldenboy, the Union Line and Big Whup. … And So Many Wizards cast their spells at the Silverlake Lounge, where Halloween Swim Team supports. …  Also: The Fling and Two Guns at the Detroit Bar in Costa Mesa; Seaspin at the Hotel Cafe; Mark Ballas at the Mint; and the Steelwells at the Viper Room.
