Coachella: Faith No More feels so good

Who: Faith No More at the main stage.
In 3 or Fewer Words: Midlife crisis averted.
I’ll Remember This Forever Because: Faith No More was the first band I’ve ever seen reunite and proceed to cover “Reunited.” Forty-two-year-old vocalist Mike Patton – in many ways the prototype for many of today’s hard-rock frontmen – clearly enjoyed himself, all gussied up in very evil red, sporting a cane, bounding about the stage and cavorting into the crowd. In many circles, Faith No More’s was the least-ballyhooed reunion of this festival; surprisingly (unless you were a devotee and read about the recent sold-out shows at the Warfield in San Francisco) they played with the ferocity of a true headliner.
What I’d Tell My Friend Who Was at Hot Chip: Was that toasted corn or nacho cheese?
